A booklet bringing together the experiences of Salisbury people during the Covid 19 pandemic in 2020 was published in December 2020. Stories collected from local people by Anne Trevett, Chair of Safer and Supportive Salisbury reflect individuals’ personal experiences during the months of lockdown. The booklet also includes artwork and wonderful wildlife photos taken during lockdown. SaSS hope that this booklet will contribute to the record of this particular extraordinary year in the long history of Salisbury.

The new covid booklets

The booklet contains 43 pages of personal stories and photographs from local residents right across the city. Emotional, heart-warming, tear-jerking and filled with pride in the generosity of individuals and the resilience of many, the stories paint a unique picture of our city during these trying times. The 29 stories in the book include a piece by Cllr John Walsh on being Mayor during lockdown, stories of grief and loss, stories from those who volunteered to provide help and others on the creative ways that people used to fill their time.

The booklet does not have a fixed price but donations are invited to be shared between Safer and Supportive Salisbury and the Trussell Trust. Copies of the booklet are available for a small donation from the Safer Salisbury booklet editor anneinbemerton@gmail and copies will be delivered or mailed out as soon as possible. More details are on the Wiltshire Together website.
