We are delighted to welcome Belinda Chandler as our new Project Manager.
Since moving to Wiltshire in 2000 to start a family and settle in the area she has worked on many community projects. She wanted to do her part to create a healthy cohesive community that her children could grow up in but also wanted to champion the people that are vulnerable within it. She has a background in fundraising, facilitation and delivery of initiatives, managing groups and evaluating finished projects, although she has also volunteered on many occasions too.
Belinda worked with young people through the SPLASH initiative. She devised The Wiltshire Food Challenge, raised funding to start this up and ran a healthy eating initiative that was accessed by over 500 children and led to a series of SPLASH healthy eating workshops over several years. For many years she was Chair of an initiative called Devizes Play Parties. This enabled families of children and young people with additional needs to meet and enjoy time together. She has worked with Arts Together for many years as teaching artist and Hub Manager, supporting isolated and vulnerable older people across Wiltshire.
Belinda is also a Dementia Champion and has greatly enjoyed running weekly art workshops for Alzheimer’s Support. Belinda says she is passionate about helping to signpost the services and support for vulnerable groups, particularly at a time when funding is so precious and helping to promote and cross pollinate existing services is essential. Belinda is looking forward to meeting all our community groups over the coming weeks.
