Men Matters 2026

Following the success of our Men Matters Showcase in 2025, we were urged to bring the event back in 2026, but this time on a Saturday to enable more working men to attend. The event on Saturday 10 October was a great success, with more than 200 attending to visit more than 40 stalls across two floors.  After a warm welcome from Mayor Jenny (left) who officially opened the event, City Hall  was literally buzzing with activity, lively conversation and much laughter.

Outside there were classic motorbikes alongside a Broken Bridges nature reserve stall. Inside local historian Frogg Moody presented his illustrated talk ‘Endless Beat’ all about Salisbury’s pop culture in the 1980s. Downstairs there were stalls from talking therapies, healthy lifestyle support, support to help with addictions and financial advice.

Upstairs there were stalls on everything active – from walking football, walking rugby, cycling, MMA, Salisbury Tri , Dance Six-0, LGBTQ social groups and of course the Men’s Shed. Free refreshments were available on both floors from Dohatech Healthcare and Milford House Care Home. Sam from SJ Fitness and Wellbeing provided a soundbath for relaxation as the morning drew to a close. Thanks are due to the Salisbury Area Board for their funding support and to Justin and his team at City Hall for free use of the hall, making the event such a success.

“I never knew so much was going on in Salisbury”, said one of the visitors as he left. “Thank you for giving us the opportunity to find out!”
