A well attended Network meeting was held on 11 March at the Friary Community Centre, courtesy of Salisbury City Council Communities Team. Network members welcomed new SaSS Project Manager Belinda Chandler and heard from her about new SaSS projects on dementia, mental well being and plans for the next SaSS Showcase.
SaSS Network members exchanged information about their organisations’ activities which included accessible tours, object handling and intergenerational oral history projects at Salisbury Museum, Silver Salisbury tea deliveries for local people who are housebound or isolated and Alzheimer’s Support ‘Lunch and Learn’ events and Walk to Remember in September. They heard reports of the Carers Together support for younger carers and of Well City Salisbury’s good news of renewed funding from the National Lottery and the well-being courses it will facilitate. This is just a taste of the information that was exchanged, more details will be in the notes of the meeting.
The next Network meeting will be at Salisbury Rugby Club on Monday 9 June at 2pm.
